Personal Style

Understanding your own personal style, what makes you feel good about yourself and comfortable in your own skin, is the key to fashion. Without this understanding it just won’t matter what you do, you’ll never be relaxed and have that ‘je ne sais quoi’ of a woman fully in tune with herself.

This personal style is not about cost or the name on your tags. It’s that unique look and fit each individual has and is exhibited based on values, experiences, body type, budget, social interactions…almost anything. Have you ever heard someone say, “does this suit me?” While they are asking if they look good, it’s more than that. They’re asking if it’s good for them, for their personality.

My favourite and most interesting personal styles are:

  • Shabby Chic – Comfortably and elegantly dressed down.
  • Geek Chic – Embracing your inner Geek outwardly…reclaiming and accepting that everyone has a little geek in ‘em.
  • Indi Tailored – A cross between a dressed up skater and indi rocker.
  • Traditional Emo – Emotionally charged casual fashion that is clean cut and streamlined.

While not all of these are my personal style, they are all very different and distinct. Those embracing these fashions have a strong sense of self and take it to the next level to outwardly express how they feel and where they are in life.

Isn’t fashion interesting?
